AI that holds up under audit
Where can AI help an aerospace manufacturer without creating compliance risk?
In the paperwork that surrounds every part. Kyver applies AI to quoting, supplier communication, quality records, first article inspection data and OEM delivery documentation. Models run in an environment provisioned for your company, every step is logged for the auditor, and anything that changes a record of conformance waits for a qualified person to approve it.

Where AI pays off on an aerospace program
The engineering is rarely the bottleneck. The time goes to tracking documents, chasing suppliers and rebuilding quotes from spreadsheets. These are the places we look first.
Quote preparation
Aerospace quotes mix ERP exports, spreadsheet math and email history. AI pulls the inputs together, applies your costing rules and drafts the quote for an estimator to check, so the method stops living in one person's head.
OEM delivery documentation
Read each OEM's requirements, list the documents due for every shipment, and flag what is late before it holds up a delivery. Engineers spend less time tracking paperwork and more on the parts.
Nonconformance and corrective action
Draft NCRs and corrective action reports from inspection notes, retrieve similar past cases and their dispositions, and route each record to the right reviewer. A person signs every disposition.
First article inspection data
Extract characteristics and results from drawings and inspection reports into AS9102 forms, then make every completed FAI searchable when a customer asks a question months later.
Supplier communication
Read order acknowledgments, ship notices and certificates as they arrive, match them to the purchase order in your ERP, and raise exceptions to a buyer instead of rekeying them.
Supplier compliance and scorecards
Collect periodic supplier declarations, check them for gaps, and keep scorecards current from receiving and quality data rather than a quarterly spreadsheet exercise.
The documentation travels with the part
Every part an aerospace supplier ships carries a trail of records: the quote, the purchase order, the inspection results, the certificates and the delivery documents an OEM requires. Most of that trail is still assembled by hand, from spreadsheets, inboxes and the memory of a few experienced people.
AI can do much of that assembly, but aerospace leaves less room for error than most industries. Technical data may be export-controlled, every quality decision has to stand up to an AS9100 audit, and a public chatbot is the wrong place for either. The work has to run in an environment you control, with a record of every step and a qualified person signing the decisions that matter.
The team behind Kyver has built supplier portals, quality systems and inspection tools for aerospace manufacturers through Sightsource. We know where the records live and which ones an auditor will ask for.
Built in from the first release
Security
Each agent can reach only the programs and records it is scoped to, which keeps export-controlled data away from people and tools that shouldn't see it.
Governance
AI drafts NCR dispositions, quotes and supplier responses. A qualified person approves anything that becomes a record of conformance or a commitment to a customer.
Cost
Models run on capacity provisioned for your company, in a region you choose, so controlled technical data never goes to a public API and the monthly cost is fixed.
Traceability
Every session is recorded: the documents retrieved, the fields extracted, the person who approved. That record is the evidence an auditor asks for.
Maintainability
Programs run for years. We document what we build and keep it working as OEM requirements, models and your ERP change.

Questions about AI in aerospace
Can AI be used with ITAR or export-controlled data?
Yes, if the data stays where the regulations require. We run models on infrastructure provisioned for your company, in the provider and region you approve, and restrict each agent to the records it needs. Your export compliance team confirms the setup before any controlled data is involved.
How does AI fit with AS9100 quality requirements?
AI prepares quality records and a qualified person approves them, so responsibility stays where AS9100 puts it. Every AI session is logged with its inputs and the approver's decision, which gives an auditor a complete record of how each document was produced.
Can AI fill out AS9102 first article inspection forms?
It can extract characteristics from drawings and results from inspection reports and draft the forms for an inspector to check. The larger gain is afterwards: completed FAI data becomes searchable, so answering a customer question doesn't mean digging through files.
Do we need to replace our ERP or quality system?
No. We connect AI to the ERP and quality system you already run. The assessment maps where each record lives and how each tool will read from it and write back to it.
